Learn to Drive at 16 Driving Course

The Course

You can now learn to drive from 14 years old, at our off road facility.

You can book Learn to Drive at 16 sessions throughout the year. This means that you can start learning to drive at any time. You will experience driving in a road system which includes a Mini Roundabout, Give Way and Stop Junction.

The off road facility is flexible enough to enable you to progress from moving off and stopping through to dealing with basic road systems. You will be taught to reverse competently in a variety of different and unusual situations. As your reversing improves you can then try your hand at a variety of Skills Tests.

The driver training comprises of:

Basic Car Control

1. Moving off and Stopping
2. Clutch Control Exercises
3. Gear changing
4. Quick stops

Road Procedures

1. Junctions
2. Mini Roundabouts
3. Priority Systems

Driving Issues

1. How the Car works
2. Breakdown Procedures
3. Basic First Aid

Reversing

A variety of reversing manouvres will be included in your driver training. Skills tests are a great way to improve on your reversing and tight manouvering, as well as being a lot of fun.

Your driver training will focus mostly on trying things out and experimenting with the driving. This helps build knowledge and understanding, as well as giving you a good foundation in driving skills.
